2014's Upcoming Xbox One Games

Sure, streaming, television, and video recording are great features to have in a console platform. They aren’t what gets you to open your wallet and bring home an expensive piece of gaming hardware. We’ve heard your pleas. You want games.

That’s why we’ve put together a quick rundown of the games to look forward to. We'll continue to update this list, and if you see something missing, please let us know. Here is everything we know that's planned for the Xbox One in 2014.

Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition- August 19
The Xbox One version of Diablo III will include the Reaper of Souls expansion and new social features not currently found in the PC original. If you’ve been playing on Xbox 360, you’ll also be able to port your character over and keep playing.

Madden NFL 15 - August 26
This year brings the first Madden designed with new-gen hardware in mind.

Metro Redux - August 26
Both Metro titles are getting the new-gen overhaul with a bunch of new features, including options to play both in the style of either game.

Dance Central Spotlight - September 2
Harmonix is bringing its popular dance title to the Xbox One with a new, lower up front cost and lots of DLC options.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate - September 2
Tecmo Koei's hack-and-slash Musou series will see re-release on Xbox One this fall.

Destiny - September 9
One of this year’s most anticipated games, Bungie is promising to revolutionize the way we look at shooters. With deep social integration and an open world, we’re looking forward to getting our hands on this when it’s done.

NHL 15 - September 9
New announcers, new arenas, and retouched physics bring NHL into the new generation.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes - September 23
This year's installment focuses on Marvel Comics' pantheon of heroes. It will be out this fall.

FIFA 15 - September 23
EA Sports returns to the pitch this year with a host of improvements for its football franchise.

Forza Horizon 2 - September 30
Playground is building the Xbox One version of this game on the Forza Motorsport 5 engine.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - September 30
Shadow of Mordor’s most compelling feature is the “nemesis” system. Major enemies will have memories of their past encounters with Talion (and bear the scars of those meetings). The hero also controls wraith abilities, giving him an edge in combat.

Skylanders: Trap Team - October 5
The fourth Skylanders game will let players trap over 40 villains and then use them in battle.

Alien: Isolation - October 7
The last Alien game wasn’t terribly good. OK. It was downright bad. However, Creative Assembly is taking the franchise back to its roots. One, super powerful, terrifying alien will stalk you throughout the entire game.

NBA 2K15 - October 7
After last year's strong first outing on new consoles, NBA 2K15 should be hitting all its jump shots.

NBA Live 15 - October 7
EA is giving its basketball title another shot this year. This time, it's going head-to-head with 2K Sports.

Project Spark - October 7
Currently in beta, Team Dakota’s game creation sandbox is already giving players the chance to make their own interactive experiences. We expect the title will be officially released later this year.

The Evil Within - October 14
When we previewed The Evil Within at PAX East, things were looking a little rocky. This is Shinji Mikami’s return to survival horror, and we want it to be great.

Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved - October 21
Harmonix has made better use of the Kinect hardware than any other developer. The studio’s upcoming music and movement game will hopefully be the title that justifies the inclusion of the camera in the box.

Evolve - October 21
Turtle Rock’s experience with Left 4 Dead has evolved. Instead of four players against an AI director, a fifth person takes control of a giant monster in a battle to the death.

Assassin’s Creed Unity - October 28
This Assassin’s Creed title will be PC and new-gen only. After a leak forced Ubisoft’s hand, we got our first look at Assassins during the French revolution.

Lords of the Fallen - October 28
Players will take on the role of Harkin, humanity's last hope against a crushing tide of demons

Sunset Overdrive - October 28
Insomniac’s first Xbox One title is a traversal-based shooter with bright colors, tons of customization, and crazy weapons.

WWE 2K15 - October 28
Wrestlng fans step into the ring on Xbox One for the first time this fall.

Costume Quest 2 - "Halloween"
While not tagged with a specific date, Double Fine has promised to deliver the game around Halloween. Whether that means right on the day or shortly before, we don't know yet, but we're confident the studio will hit the mark.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - November 4
Sledgehammer Games takes the reins for the first time in this year's Call of Duty title. The game takes place in 2054 and stars Kevin Spacey as the leader of the world's largest PMC.

The Crew - November 11
Ubisoft’s open-world racer will finally be making an appearance this fall. Will the social features be the hook that the publisher hopes?

Halo: The Master Chief Collection - November 11
Microsoft is updating and bundling all four Halo games starring the Master Chief. All of the previously released multiplayer maps are included.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - November 18
BioWare's upcoming return to Thedas is one of this fall's most anticipated titles.

Far Cry 4 - November 18
The action moves from the tropics to the Himalayas this year.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - December 9
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are working on a sequel to last-generation's Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

Aztez - Undated
One part strategy sim, one part beat 'em up, Aztez puts players in charge of the Aztec empire.

Below - Undated
With its huge environments and challenging design, Capybara’s Below has something for fans of Dark Souls and The Legend of Zelda alike. Procedurally generated caverns hold numerous secrets for players to uncover.

Forced - Undated
A multiplayer arcade action game in the spirit of Gauntlet.

Fru - Undated
One of the only ID@Xbox Kinect titles we’ve seen requires players to move around in order to assist the hero in reaching his destination. Little puzzles like using your silhouette to connect a key and a locked door will encourage players to stretch and move.

The Golf Club - Undated
A new, realistic golf simulation.

Grand Theft Auto V - Undated
The long-awaited new-gen update to Grand Theft Auto is coming this fall.

Gunscape - Undated
A first-person shooter construction kit that gives players the tools to build and populate maps.

Habitat - Undated
With Earth being consumed by nanomachines, players will build space stations out of junk rocketed into orbit. The goal is to build shelter for refugees from the planet surface.

Hyper Light Drifter - Undated
Heart Machine’s upcoming title is deceptive. The pixelated aesthetic hides a deep experience with multiple abilities and challenging enemies.

IDARB (It Draws a Red Box) - Undated
With character (and possibly arena) customization, this latest entry in the growing throwback “genre” is targeting a competitive community. Two teams of four compete to score goals in this sports-infused arena title.

Just Dance 2015 - Undated
Ubisoft's annual dance franchise is a huge seller, and it's no wonder it'll be back.

Kickbeat - Undated
Zen Studios music-meets-kung fu title.
